Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Associate to manage the day-to-day processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-volume environment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while adhering to company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and process a high volume of invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and vendor contracts.
Vendor Management: Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries, resolving discrepancies, and managing payment schedules.
Payment Management: Prepare and execute payments via checks, ACH, and wire transfers, ensuring timely processing to avoid late fees.
Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
Reporting: Generate and maintain reports on accounts payable activity, providing insights and metrics to management.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and company policies, supporting compliance initiatives as needed.
Collaboration: Work closely with the accounting team and other departments to streamline processes and ensure accurate coding of expenses.

Requirements
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but not required.
Experience: 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a high-volume environment. Experience in the energy or commodities industry is a plus but not required
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Key Competencies:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of general accounting principles and AP best practices
