Job Description

Note: This position will follow our hybrid work model. We expect the selected candidate to be in the office 10-12 days per month at the St. Petersburg, FL Corporate Office location.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through experience, specialized training and/or certification to support communications planning and execution for Raymond James’s Compliance, Risk Management, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) departments. Collaborates with partners across the firm’s control functions and business areas to develop and launch communications related to regulatory changes, policies, technology implementations, client protection, data privacy, training, diversity and inclusion, associate engagement, and more. Creates communications such as newsletter articles, emails, intranet content, and presentations for internal and external audiences at all levels. Works independently on difficult assignments that are broad in nature and that require originality and ingenuity with appreciable latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions. Provides comprehensive solutions to complex problems. Maintains extensive contact with internal customers to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supports shared communications services to the Compliance, Risk Management, and AML departments.

• Supports Compliance, Risk, and AML personnel in establishing streamlined communications and templates for conveying key information and results to desired business, compliance, and external stakeholders.

• Supports the creation, production, and ongoing improvement of several department and cross-department newsletters.

• Assists with planning and facilitating Compliance department town hall meetings.

• Provides support and guidance to Compliance communications efforts.

• Routinely interacts with senior leaders within Compliance and across the firm.

• Prepares and delivers written and oral presentations to management and other stakeholders.

• May coach, train, and mentor less experienced associates.

• Represents the Compliance department on cross-functional projects as they arise.

• Tracks and executes communications requests.

• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

• Communications planning, drafting and execution.

Skill in:

• Writing, editing, and proofreading.

• Streamlining and communicating complex information in a digestible way.

• Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint. Familiarity with Eloqua is a plus.

• Sitecore or similar content management systems.

Ability to:

• See projects through from conception to successful execution.

• Absorb unfamiliar topics quickly.

• Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives.

• Facilitate meetings, ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas, and problems are addressed.

• Attend to detail while maintaining a big picture orientation.

• Prioritize tasks and pivot quickly when necessary.

• Work under pressure on multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) in a related discipline and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in Compliance and/or the financial services industry.

  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
