This position serves our partners at the Department of Corrections (DOC). The MNIT DOC team runs many unique applications that manage the information and security of the department, supporting 4,500 employees across 10 prisons and 50 field offices located throughout the state.

As a Video and Teleconferencing Support Specialist, you will provide implementation, technical support, and problem resolution for DOC conferencing systems, including but not limited to the Virtual Courts. Responsibilities include installation of new conferencing products for deployment on the DOC network, support for network-based large-scale video events, facilities support, and administration and compliance of MNIT video and teleconferencing standards.

We will be filling two vacancies from this one posting. All applicants will be considered for both vacancies.

These positions are temporary and included full state fringe benefits; it is anticipated to last for two (2) years.

These positions require employees to be onsite with the option to telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) occasionally.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

Position requires a minimum of two (2) years of IT related experience using common Teleconference software (Teams, WebEx, Zoom, etc.).

  • Experience working in IT Customer Support.

  • Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.

  • Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

A bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for two (2) years of experience, OR an IT or related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Helix ticketing system.

  • Familiarity with Cisco TMS.

  • Experience with MNIT DOC policies and procedures.

  • Computers and Networking.

  • Experience in user support/training through a variety of methods including remote and in-person support/troubleshooting.

Physical Requirements

Requires moving/lifting devices such as desktops, monitors, laptops, teleconferencing equipment, and miscellaneous equipment from multiple locations, lifting devices up onto storage shelves (Above head (40 lbs.) and being able to gain access under desks (crawl).
