St. Jude Medical Cardiology Division Inc. Senior Cloud Software Engineer in St. Paul, Minnesota

SENIOR CLOUD SOFTWARE ENGINEER St. Jude Medical, an Abbott Laboratories Co. / St. Paul, MN and various and unanticipated work locations throughout the U.S. Responsible for designing new cloud software products and processes and improving and maintaining existing products. Contribute to the design and development of cloud service applications under a disciplined product development process that meets FDA and other regulatory agencies requirements. Work on software design, coding, and software validation. Support verification and validation testing, unit testing, and ensuring that all product development conforms to design specifications and coding standards for medical devices. Code software designs and conduct investigation activities following defined methods. Develop productive internal/external working relationships. Architect, Design and develop highly scalable web and sever applications using Angular frameworks with JavaScript, TypeScript and SQL programming languages; and server-side technologies, including Java, Spring, JPA, JMS and Web Services (SOAP and RESTful). Responsible for the development of distributed cloud-based software microservices that can efficiently scale with minimal effort using container technologies, including Docker or Kubernetes , within relational databases, including PostgresSQL and Oracle . Assist in the preparation of software design specifications for implementation of software designs per design development process using software configuration tools, including Git, BitBucket, or AccuRev . Assist in the evaluation of selected designs through testing and full documentation of the results. Work on problems of moderate to complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Implement high quality, secure and robust applications with optimal performance suitable for cloud deployment of service applications. Work collaboratively with cross functional teams in all phases of the lifecycle of the product development. Evaluate and suggest new tools and technologies for overall improvement of the product. Work independently, lead product releases and mentoring junior team members. Ensure compliance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors. Position may require work in various and unanticipated work locations throughout the U.S. 100% Telecommunication is permissible. Bachelor s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or in a closely related computational or engineering field of study with at least 3 years of professional software development experience. In addition, the position requires an academic or industrial background in: (i) Angular Frameworks; (ii) JavaScript, TypeScript and SQL programming languages; (iii) server-side technologies, including Java, Spring, JPA, JMS and Web Services (SOAP and RESTful); (iv) cloud-based software development; (v) container technologies, including Docker or Kubernetes; (vi) software configuration tools, including Git, BitBucket, or AccuRev; and (vii) relational databases, including PostgresSQL and Oracle.
