The Results Management team at Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) is dedicated to results-oriented efforts that help state and local partners make informed policy decisions to improve outcomes for people in Minnesota. Through a variety of approaches and methods, we focus efforts across state government on results, foster collaboration, and ignite action to improve outcomes for people in Minnesota. Within the Results team, our efforts to put evidence into the core practices of government has core work themes of: elevating our understanding of the impact of programs on the people they are intended to serve and promoting the use of evidence in state programs and systems.
As a Results Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to assist state leaders, policymakers, and other program administrators in making decisions that produce better outcomes for Minnesotans by 1) initiating and facilitating coordination across agencies, levels of government, and sectors to carry out identified improvements, 2) participating in enterprise-wide efforts to identify strong evidence and promote its use and 3) identify and disseminate new and innovative best practices related to evidence including practices related to the evaluation of disparities and inequities in program outcomes.
Minnesota Management & Budget will be filling up to two (2) vacancies with this posting.
Minimum Qualifications
At least four (4) years of professional level experience.
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional level experience.
A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for eighteen (18) months of professional level experience.
Examples of related degrees: economics, political science, public policy, public administration, business, planning, mathematics, statistics, social or physical sciences.
Experience must include:
Experience using performance management, measurement, and reporting approaches/methods (either with state agencies, local governments, states, the federal government, or in nonprofit or for-profit organizations) to impact program performance
Excellent oral and written communication skills sufficient to lead projects with internal and external stakeholders, present ideas with varying techniques, and effectively apply judgement and discretion with sensitive issues
Qualitative and quantitative analysis sufficient to manipulate and visualize complex, program-related data in meaningful ways that inform and improve program operations
Problem solving skills sufficient to identify issues as they arise, propose new and innovative solutions, advise others, and evaluate implementation of solutions
Ability to build partnerships across organizations, levels of staff, and with external stakeholders to foster collaboration and build consensus
Attention to detail and the ability to produce dynamic, error-free work and identify opportunities for improvement in others’ work
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with and/or experience using performance measurement frameworks such as results based accountability
Project management skills, including leading communication, organization, analysis, and execution of complex projects that adapt to emerging opportunities
Working as a team with various levels of staff to achieve success while proactively looking to build the skills of other team members
Experience partnering with stakeholders to implement research findings to improve policy
Experience creating data visualizations using software such as Excel, R, Power BI, or Tableau
Experience with group facilitation methods to convene large groups and foster collaboration in culturally appropriate ways
Experience with Minnesota state government, public program policies and operations, or grant administration
Ability to initiate, lead, and complete projects independently
