Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare Radiologic Technologist (.8 FTE)- Up to 10k Sign-On Bonus in St Paul, Minnesota

The selected candidate will be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 (subject to taxes).

Gillette Children's is in search of a Radiology Technologist. We are looking for a motivated, independent, & responsible individual to work in our imaging department, primarily at our St. Paul hospital location. DXA/Bone Density experience a plus, will train if needed. Working hours/shifts vary between 8:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday (8-hour shifts) with occasional weekend/holiday coverage on-site (St. Paul) from 8:00am-12:00pm. The individual will also be included in the weekend/holiday after hours call rotation. This is a 0.8 FTE, benefit eligible position.

The imaging technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging exams in compliance with departmental procedures and guidelines. The Technologist works with patients of all ages, cultures, and physical conditions and provides efficient and effective customer service.

Compensation & Benefits

The hourly wage for this opportunity is $31.36/hour to $45.44/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including number of hours worked within the field, education, and certification/licensure. Hourly pay just one part of the compensation package for employees. Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Responds to physician orders for diagnostic imaging procedures by producing high quality images which meet the expectations of the ordering physicians and radiologists.

  • Proficient and safe use of imaging equipment including:

  • Radiographic

  • C-arm, O-arm

  • Portable radiographic

  • Fluoroscopic

  • Proficient and safe use of ancillary equipment relevant to the modality including:

  • Computed radiography

  • Positioning devices

  • Ceiling lift

  • Imaging printers

  • Digitizer

  • PACS

  • RIS

  • Proficient in all exam types for the assigned modality.

  • Radiographic: Skull, Spine, Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis, Upper and Lower Extremity, Intraoperative

  • Fluoroscopic, C-arm, and O-arm

  • Performs patient assessment of pain, pregnancy, ability to complete the exam

  • Performs patient education concerning the procedure

  • Documents patient history

  • Properly positions the patient

  • Selects the exam protocol

  • Selects the equipment parameters/technical factors

  • Discharges the patient with post procedure instructions

  • Evaluates resulting images

  • Accepts or rejects images appropriately

Qualifications

Required:

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Require current CPR certification

  • Must be certified and registered and in good standing with the ARRTORARRT certification-eligible and obtain ARRT certification and registration within one year of graduation from the educational program

  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience with pediatric and/or disabled populations

  • Flexibility and versatility in working with a variety of staff in a variety of areas

  • Require demonstrated skill in the area of interpersonal communication as it relates to patients, families, co-workers, medical staff, and others

  • Experience working in a digital imaging environment

Preferred:

  • Prefer a minimum of an Associate Degree
