We supply blood and blood components, state-of-the-art laboratory services, and biomedical expertise to area healthcare partners, national blood centers, biotechnology companies, research institutions, and international clients. Operating 10 donor centers and conducting hundreds of blood drives each month, we are proud to be an independent nonprofit that supplies over 30 area hospitals and more than a dozen air ambulances with life-saving blood-from our community, for our community. Responsibilities Summary: The role involves overseeing the management of staff for 2nd shift Hopsital Services Representatives and Drivers, resources, and procedures essential for daily operations concerning processed blood products, encompassing labeling, storage, packaging, inventory control, distribution, and logistics. Additionally, it includes managing resources and processes associated with the transportation of samples and unprocessed blood products between locations. Collaboration with other departmental managers is crucial to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of services and products to customers and patients. This position is considered "essential" during severe weather or emergency operation events. Schedule: Monday - Friday 10am - 6:30pm or 11am - 7:30pm. On call shared with other MBC Manager. Location: St. Paul, MN Job Responsibilities: Scheduling and Payroll Schedules day to day operation and workflow for all shifts in HS. Tracks attendace. Approves PTO requests and ensures adequate staff coverage to complete essential functions. Completes appropriate timecard records/reviewsPersonnel Recruitment and Management Hospital Services team Personnel Recruitment and Management Hospital Services team Monitor and mentor team performances and provide constructive feedback. Maintains a technically superior department through ongoing training and development of department employees. Writes and performs annual employee performance reviews and coaching Develop Performance Improvement Plans and facilitate disciplinary action as needed. Conduct interviews and make final recommendations for hiring, terminating, promoting, and reassigning staff. Communication & Employee Engagement Keeps Director regularly informed on quality, process, workflow or employee issues Department meetings & 1:1 Employee Recognition formal and informal Regulatory& Quality Assurance Management Develops a system of error prevention/reduction in product distribution through staff involvement and the setting up of a monitoring system to measure overall performance. Administer policies and procedures to ensure an efficient and profitable operation that conforms to specified regulations. Ensures compliance to all policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines. Responsible for Standard Operating Procedure revision via MasterControl (electronic Quality Management System) as well as new SOP creation and implementation. Review corrective actions that will affectively change a process to determine if it is the best means of prevention. Executive the writing, performance and/or the review of validation/verifications. HS Vehicle Management Manages and Coordinates driving duties with Volunteer Services: scheduling, delivery routes, and donor center pick-up routes. Efficiently manage vehicle performance and driver optimization while coordinating maintenance activities with appropriate department(s) and vendors. Delivery & Transportation Logistics and Support (IBR only) Scheduling mobiles and fixed site pickups and deliveries Developing alternate delivery options when required Courier Billing Hospital Services Performs in day-to-day operations and daily review Manag s the recovered plasma consignment, shipments, and invoicing. Understand and maintain knowledge to the Hospital Services computer applications: On-line ordering, on-line invoicing, temperature monitoring, BECS, and National Market dashboards. Ensures timely responsiveness of orders submitted, proper handling of unprocessed products, finished goods, sample transport, deliveries, and pick-ups. Act as a liaison between NYBCe management and its internal and external customers to provide quality service and maintain excellent customer relations and open lines of communication between departments. Monitors and improves daily operations by coordinating areas to minimize total costs and increase overall efficiency in serving hospitals and other divisions. Inventory Assessment Support department forecasting and planning activities. Partner with enterprise to manage the inventory and distribution to minimize loss. Assist with the development and implementation of systems to minimize outdating of blood products inventory. Strategy and Leadership Understands & promotes organizational vision & mission Department goal setting, execution and measurement of results. Demonstration of work-related behaviors consistent with values. Assists in budget preparation and cost center management. Experience: 5+ years of experience in inventory, distribution or in a manufacturing or healthcare setting. Any combination of education, training and experience that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the essential functions of the job. Other: Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
