This position involves verifying and updating information in the driver's license database to ensure customers receive accurate and complete details on their driver’s licenses, identification cards, and instruction permits. Responsibilities include reviewing, understanding, and interpreting documents and applications for various credential types—Standard, Real ID, and Enhanced—and all driving privilege categories, such as identification cards, instruction permits, non-commercial driver’s licenses, and commercial driver’s licenses.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to a variety of customers over the phone, in person and via email.

  2. Ability to read, write and speak English sufficiently to understand and be understood when responding to internal and external business partners and customers.

  3. Data entry skills sufficient to receive, review, and compare documents and accurately enter data.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Working knowledge of the Driver's License database

  2. Proven experience demonstrating: Time management skills, multi-tasking, problem-solving skills and strong organizational experience

  3. Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from a diverse background

  4. Ability to work repetitive task consistently on daily basis

  5. Graduate of one of the following public sector training programs: Project for Pride in Living, HIRED, Goodwill Easter Seals, Twin Cities Rise, Takoda, Hmong American Partnership, CLUES or similar Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) sponsored workforce development programs.

Physical Requirements

Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools. May need to maintain a stationary position for extended periods while carrying out job duties.
