Ever-Green Energy LLC INSTRUMENTATION AND CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN in St. Paul, Minnesota

Ever-Green Energy is looking for a team member to provide project requirements for new installations and manage existing metering, copper, fiber optic and wireless communication systems. Provide oversight, technical development, and ongoing support of meter inventory programs, customer database programs, and billing software. Ensure reliable customer mechanical system interface with Ever-Green Energy OMM metering systems providing accuracy and integrity for customer satisfaction and correct billing. Minimum requirements to be successful in this role: Completion of two-year post-secondary program covering relevant technical topics, or equivalent experience. Course work or equivalent experience in project management. Written communication skills, contractor supervision experience, and other exposure to areas related to construction management. Ongoing continuing education of software, metering and other technologies necessary to maintain systems as described above. Three or more years of progressive related experience in various metering and communication technologies. Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, municipal authorities, and customers relative to contracts and utility service requirements. Experience in budgeting, cost control, records and report management. Working knowledge of Maximo or demonstrated applicable skills in a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Program). Working knowledge of metering systems, wireless and fiber optic technologies. Excellent computer skills. Working knowledge of IP (Internet Protocol) networks a plus. Ability to read technical drawings and diagrams. Possess the aptitude for problem-solving; ability to manage concurrent projects with a high degree of independence and self-initiation. Strong oral and written communications; and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people are required. Flexibility and adaptability to changing job situations, ability to work with people from all levels within and outside of the company. Must have a valid Minnesota driver's license and maintain a good driving record. Preferred requirements: Course work in building HVAC, operations and maintenance is desirable. Broad technical knowledge concerning the design and operation of district heating and cooling systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Metering Systems: 1. Perform technical investigation, evaluation, design, and development of the Ever-Green Energy OMM metering systems including the use of wireless and fiber optic technology, ensuring accurate measurement of customer energy use. 2. Manage metering systems utilizing internal staff and outside contractors instructing and training personnel where required. Oversee construction, modification, testing, analyzing, and repair of system components as required. 3. Provide scheduling and budget control for construction, maintenance and repair projects ensuring minimal disruption to customers, metering accuracy, communication system reliability and customer satisfaction. 4. Create and maintain computerized metering system maintenance and records. Perform calibrations and preventative maintenance on metering systems. Monitor and transmit customer usage data accurately for use in billing and customer service where manually entered. Analyze and identify problems from data and follow up with required modifications. Communication Systems: 1. Manage metering and data transfer systems utilizing internal staff, contractors and consultants to ensure communication continuity and integrity. 2. Perform technical investigation, evaluation, analysis and design for meter communication systems. Oversee construction, modification, testing, review and repair of system components as required. 3. Work with key stakeholder legal and technical representative in the maintenance and expansion of Ever-Green Energy OMM fiber optic communication network. This includes working on existing and new contracts, and ongoing maintenance of their systems. Data Management Records and Reports: 1. Coordinate with IT as needed for field device communications and security requirements. 2. Coordinate with IT and Customer Service as needed for data management and analysis needs 3. Coordinate with Accounting as needed for billing corrections and discrepancies. Customer and Departmental Service: 1. Develop and maintain customer relationships through customer contact, and ongoing training efforts. Troubleshoot anticipated problems and respond appropriately to customer concerns. 2. Provide technical assistance to Distribution Services and Plant Operations personnel for communication issues related to satellite plants, the hot water moisture detection system and other similar systems with a shared on-call rotation Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
