The Opportunity

This EHR Connectivity Ops Program Manager position works out of the Minneapolis, MN, location in the Medical Devices Digital Solutions organization.

The EHR Connectivity Operations Program Manager reports to the Senior Manager, EHR Connectivity Operations. This critical role will be responsible for project management, customer implementation, and best practice facilitation, as well as supporting hospital EHR integration with Abbott’s medical device platforms. The role will be the primary leader for project implementations and liaison with customer stakeholders, such as hospital IT and clinical team members, as well as Abbott’s commercial field teams to provide project execution, technical subject matter expertise, and customer relationship management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Manage customer EHR integration engagements across Abbott medical device platforms leveraging a variety of interoperability standards.

  • Oversee the project life cycle from initiation, planning, execution, scope management, performance monitoring, and project close for each customer engagement.

  • Coordinate and lead ongoing project status meetings to ensure internal and external customer engagement and accountability.

  • Internal alignment with Abbott’s commercial field team on current and future integration initiatives

  • Support pre-engagement customer meetings related to Abbott’s integration services.

  • Facilitate alignment to ensure program success across key stakeholders: information technology, administration, and clinical specialties.

  • Facilitate and lead best practice implementation of technical solutions related to data visualization across a variety of EHRs.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction at the highest level across stakeholders both internal and external.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required:

  • BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, Information Technology or related field preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years in a project leadership role performing project planning and implementation.

  • In depth understanding of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (e.g. Epic and Cerner) and interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR

  • Understanding of clinical standards such as (SNOMED, LOINC, ICD, etc) and the different payloads of data available, including segment and data types, in HL7 messages (ADTs, ORUs, ORMs, DFT etc)

  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) integration engines, their capabilities and sending and receiving different types of HL7 messages via HTTP(s) and TCP/IP

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills to manage work that ensures successful project delivery to internal and external Abbott Customers.

  • Bridging communication between technical areas and business areas for a full and complete understanding of project requirements and project delivery.

  • Problem solving of highly complex issues, which requires critical assessment of potential impact on multiple interested parties. The candidate must be proactive in issue identification, analysis, course correction and resolution.

  • Ability to distill complex information into concise, impactful communications to both internal and external customers/stakeholders, often in a matrixed environment.

Preferred :

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • Certified HL7 CDA / FHIR Specialist

  • Experience with design and implementation of new processes (or establishing new SOPs) is strongly preferred

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
