Fairview Health Services Director Staff Development (RN) in St Paul, Minnesota

The Director of Staff Development Nurse will be an expert at delivering variety of training and education to ensure staff compliance and development at our new Skilled Nursing TCU LTC and Senior Care Center in downtown St Paul, MN. This RN position will be the expert at delivering variety of training and education to ensure staff compliance and development. Ability and knowledge that assists staff to work at their highest level of licensure with confident to provide quality, safety and proper techniques to residents served.

Ebenezer Integrated Care & Rehab (EICR) serves seniors with long-term, transitional, and dementia care needs in the heart of St. Paul,MN. As part of Fairview's Community Health and Wellness Hub, EICR is committed to delivering innovative, collaborative care. The Fairview Community Health and Wellness Hub opened in 2022 to deliver a variety of services to the community—from primary and mental health care to enrichment options for seniors, food access programs, and community gathering spaces.   • Consults within and among departments as needed and within confines of position

  • Attend weekly management meetings

  • Attend department meetings, as requested

  • Provide education as required

  • Provide facility pre-employment health discussion

  • Collaborate areas of opportunity with Director of Nursing and Administration

  • Facilitate meetings to streamline and troubleshoot best practice and education and practices

  • Rounding on units purpose of identifying spot on training opportunities

  • Coordinates training programs for the facility

  • Annual All Staff Education Days

  • On-site New Employee Orientation

  • On-site Nursing Orientation

  • Mandatory In-service Days

  • Develop monthly Staff Development calendar detailing education opportunities and mandatory in-service training

  • Idenify staff development needs and provide appropriate learning opportunities for all departments

  • Set up staff development trainings, conducts audits and competencies identified from QAA, obervation, etc, and ensure sustainability

  • Complete competencies with staff to ensure compliance of resident care

  • Aunnual skills fair

  • Supports cross continuum of quality efforts through organizational development

  • Participate in Quality Development Council Meeting and monthly QA meeting

  • Participate in Corporate Quality initiatives

  • Assist with monitor Continuous Quality Improvement projects and ensuring sustainability

  • Work with students during clinical rounds to ensure safe and positive experience

  • Maintain pertinent data around staff immunization tracking

  • Update and track staff immunizations (includes TB results prior to work start date)

  • Champion for flu season and immunizations

  • Coordinate with Infection Preventionist

  • Safety Committee

  • Participate in safety and quality programs and processes, reports and education

  • Assist in maintaining AWAIR and Diaster Manuals

  • Facilitate and responsible for Safe Patient Handling

  • Demonstrates commitment to employee engagement

  • Participate/facilitate preceptor programs as directed and implemented

  • Participate in on-call rotation(s), per facility policy

  • Perform other duties as assigned and directed

  • Participate with wound rounds and re-educate nursing team as needed

  • Participates in QAA

  • Participates in PIP's and QIP's

Required:

  • Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree: RN

  • RN Licensure/Registered with the MN Board of Nursing

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross; accepted certifications as follows -AHA: BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program or BLS Provider - BLS Instructor.   American Red Cross: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and/or Healthcare Providers, Life Guarding First Aid/CPR/AED

  • Three to Five years as a RN

  • MS Microsoft Applications

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree: BSN, Quality, Management or related degree

  • ANACC Certification in Gerontology

  • Five to Ten years as a RN
