Assistant Director ID: 2025-2089 Category: Financial Aid Type: FLSA Status: Exempt Benefit Eligible: Benefit Eligible Location: St. Paul, Minnesota Office Location: Anderson Center Job Summary Assist the Director of Financial Aid in student counseling, financial aid awarding and revisions, quality control and special projects. Administers endowed and restricted scholarships for all students. Provide Communications Support to Financial Aid Office. Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities Scholarship & Military Educational Benefits Management - 45% Manage endowed, restricted, and third-party scholarship programs. Responsible for non-VA military educational benefits, such as: MN GI Bill, ROTC, and military Tuition Assistance. Serve as the backup for VA military educational benefits. Financial Aid Counseling - 30% Prepare and revise financial aid offers. Provide customer service through appointments, email, and phone contact. Web Author & Content Management - 15% Keep the financial aid website up to date. Clean-up Reports & Guest Reception Support - 6% Run and clean up reports. Assist with financial aid guest reception. Financial Aid Marketing Liaison - 2% Serve as the FA Office liaison with the Communications & Marketing Department. Facilitate updates of financial aid marketing materials. Regulatory Compliance - 2% Stay current on financial aid regulatory requirements. Required Skills Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Must be an effective leader. Excellent understanding of the federal, state and institutional financial aid regulations and policies. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google suite. Working knowledge of a student information system. Expertise in a financial aid software. Must be able to solve conflicts. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in written form. Must be able to work with confidential information. Prioritizes tasks and manages time effectively. Listens to others, responds with empathy, truth, and respect. Must have good problem-solving skills and be able to anticipate potential problems. Speaks clearly and distinctly in person and over phone. Experience 4+ years of financial aid experience. Education Bachelor's degree. Must have part one and two of the NASFAA credentials completed. Additional Information Must not be in default of any Title IV loans.
