Job DescriptionAs a member of the Customer Project Coordinator Family, your role is to promptly respond to customer inquiries/feedback and resolve customer issues with the goal of satisfying the customer and enhancing the opinion of the company, while still maintaining the company’s interest. This role provides assistance in promoting the safe and reliable use of energy through planning and installation of either natural gas or electric service. This is completed through the complex electrical design and coordination of line and main extensions or rebuild of existing facilities in order to meet or exceed our customer’s expectations.

As a CPC, you are accountable for the overall customer satisfaction for service, coordination, and installation of company facilities. CPCs are responsible for creating and reviewing job designs (or re-write as the creation and review of job designs) and estimates to ensure all current construction and safety standards are met, as well as ensuring job quality. It is expected that this role will provide excellent customer service by receiving feedback from customers and working to resolve customer issues. To provide working direction to crew(s) or other operations personnel necessary to manage projects and ensure a high level of responsiveness to customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Promptly respond to customer inquiries/feedback and resolve customer issues with the goal of satisfying the customer and enhancing the opinion of the company, while still maintaining the company’s interest.

  • Selects proper material for construction jobs. Prepares or oversees the preparation of material lists and material requisitions for prepared construction jobs. Utilizes planned requirements process to assure adequate lead-time for material delivery in order to coordinate with construction schedules.

  • Assists the construction crews by fielding job prior to construction, aiding in the solution of construction problems and occasionally acting as company inspector for contract crews.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with municipalities and governing agencies. Contacts, advises or coordinates with customers, Home Owners Associations (HOAs), private utility reps, building managers, consulting engineers, dealers and contractors regarding project schedule, benefits, and impacts.

  • Coordinates activities and provides required information to stakeholders (such as Engineering or Real Estate) to ensure that proper facilities are installed. Works with various departments to obtain row, permits, and easements.

  • Works with customers, building managers, architects, consulting engineers, dealers and contractors to put customers' needs at the forefront.

  • Projects may include Area CPC's, joint use and (some) commercial and development, grid mod and grid hardening.

  • Able to locate gas & electric standards, service requirements, codes & compliance.

  • Other duties will be assigned and include additional technical responsibilities such as timekeeping, invoice coding, and closing jobs.

Requirements

Electric Customer Project Coordinator I

  • High School diploma, GED, or Journeyman card.

  • Requires valid driver's license and must be able to travel to job sites throughout Avista service territory.

  • 6+ months' relevant work experience related to GIS, planning, and/or designing construction of natural gas or electric facilities with an emphasis in customer service.

  • Must have strong customer service skills. Demonstrated skills in cooperating in a team environment, negotiation, problem solving, construction management, and excellent communication skills is a must.

  • Qualified applicants will have basic computer skills and ability to learn computer applications for construction design.

  • Experience in construction field with basic knowledge of Avista’s natural gas preferred and electric infrastructure required.

  • Strong working knowledge of key operation business process and core applications.

  • Ability to interpret and explain complex business processes and concepts.

Other combinations of education/experience may be considered.

Electric Customer Project Coordinator II

  • College level degree or Journeyman card, or equivalent education/experience.

  • Requires valid driver's license and must be able to travel to job sites throughout Avista service territory.

  • Meets qualifications for level two and is performing at standards plus 3+ years' work experience directly related to planning and designing of electric facilities with an emphasis in customer service.

  • Experience in construction field with basic knowledge of Avista’s natural gas preferred and electric infrastructure required.

  • Strong working knowledge of key operation business process and core applications.

  • Ability to interpret and explain complex business processes and concepts.

    Electric CPC I: Starting Range: $71,741 to $92,905 per year; Full Range: $71,741 to $103,486 per year

    Electric CPC II: Starting Range: $81,672 to $106,174 per year; Full Range: $81,672 to $118,425 per year
