nVent Senior Director of Talent and Org Development in St Louis Park, Minnesota

The Sr. Director of Talent and Org Development is a critical leader on our Human Resources Leadership Team, responsible for leading the planning, design, and implementation of organization development initiatives and our talent management initiatives, including leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of learning and development programs. Leading a team the goal of this newly formed role is to manage the talent development, performance management and organization design to retain and develop the best talent in the market to foster a high performance culture and organization. The role will be a strategic partner to the executive leadership team and report directly to the Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Implement a talent strategy that supports the company's growth and innovation objectives, aligns with the company's mission, vision, and values.

  • Establish and monitor talent metrics and analytics that measure the effectiveness and impact of the talent strategy and initiatives, and provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Lead and manage the organization development function, including creating and implementing strategies that enhance the organization's effectiveness, performance, and change management capabilities.

  • Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning and development programs, including onboarding, leadership development, designing and delivering learning and development opportunities, career paths, and succession plans for employees at all levels.

  • Oversee the talent and performance management processes, including talent assessment, succession planning, performance appraisal, feedback, and coaching to ensure they continue to foster a culture of performance and career growth.

  • Support the talent needs of the organization by leading with a consultative approach for the executive leadership team, and partnering with their HR partners to help create specific org designs and strategies to help drive successful goal achievement.

  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in talent management, and leverage industry benchmarks and data to inform and enhance the company's talent strategy and initiatives and engage with external partners as needed to help drive our strategy forward.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree a plus.

  • 15+ years of progressive experience with 5+ years leading Talent and/or OD teams.

  • A consultative approach, actively engaging with leaders to understand their needs real time.

  • Experience leading global or enterprise-wide teams.

  • Experience leading teams in an environment of transformation and change.

  • Strategic thinker with strong practical judgment.

  • Ability to collaborate with and influence peers.

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.

  • Experience creating/enhancing talent programs to align with business strategy.

  • Capable of planning and managing projects with attention to achieving timely, cost-effective outcomes.

  • Strong skills in engaging, focusing, coaching, and developing a high-performing team.
