Center For Diagnostic Imaging Director, Medical Coding and Reconciliation in St. Louis Park, Minnesota

RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is looking for a Director, RCM Coding Process and Compliance to join our team. As a Director, RCM Coding Process and Compliance, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of the coding process including charge reconciliation, coding team members and workflow; monitors and ensures process integrity; works collaboratively with revenue cycle, information technology, providers, operations, compliance and other departments across the company. This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Champions the vision, values and culture to support the strategic goals of the Company. (65%) RCM Leadership Directs the coding quality and support services across the coding and documentation teams. Demonstrates a leadership style that results in continuous improvement of processes and alignment within the department and in partnership with other revenue cycle leaders. Ensures that the company is billing compliantly, according to coding standards established by CMS, AMA and other coding regulations which includes using accurate and appropriate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes and only billing for those services actually ordered, performed, completed and documented. Acts as an expert resource regarding coding, documentation and reimbursement requirements Leads the Coding Quality Program implementation, including regular monitoring, reporting and process improvement. Provides direction on special coding initiatives, including coding compliance, internal and external audit, training and education for the team members. Stays abreast of coding and regulatory requirement updates, as well as industry trends and disruptors, to properly education and update impacted users and IT systems for efficient change management without gaps in quality. Identifies and actively participates in deploying new technology, system optimization, and workflow optimization, and workflow automation efforts. Works with outside sources to ensure compliance regarding day-to-day operations, policies and procedures and the quality (coding quality review) program. Works with external resource to perform biennial coding review. Ensures appropriate documentation concerning billing policies and procedures. Communicates and trains with center management and providers regarding appropriate documentation for studies as well as education on medical necessity. Leads business-related center procedure changes and expansion. Maintains quality checks and balances to ensure that processes are in place and being followed to protect the integrity of charges being posted to patient accounts. Responsible for ensuring that all charges are posted in the billing system. Works with other revenue cycle leaders on high volume denial issues and assists in working with the team members and/or payors for resolution. Facilitates RCM process improvement initiatives within the markets. Ensures that all yearly radiology coding additions/deletions/changes are updated in the RIS and Practice Management System (15%) Database Administration Assists with and provides guidance for the RIS and billing system chargemaster. Creates database set-up and administration of exams, codes, and fee in the RIS database, including involvement with the set-up and administration of the electronic interface between the RIS and billing system. (15%) Team Member Management Initiates and participates in staff performance evaluations, compensation and development of team members including performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions and/or termination of team members. Participates in regular team member meetings and team members one-on-ones. Participates in management with outsourced codin teams Integrates new centers/acquisitions into current processes, which includes training and working with the center's staff and radiologists/providers. (5%) Completes other tasks and projects as requested. SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Bachelor's degree 5+ years of manager or director level leadership experience in medical coding including extensive knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 coding License/Certification/Registered Health Information Technician, Coding Credential, or Clinical Documentation Integrity Credential preferred. Radiology coding experience preferred. 2-3 years Microsoft Office Suite experience Valid driver's license and proof of current insurance WORKING CONDITIONS: Requires use of office equipment, such as computers, fax machines, telephones and copiers Requires computer-related activities for extended periods of time. Requires the ability to see, hear, speak, write, and key. May require some lifting, bending and stooping.
