Primary Responsibilities Willingness to be involved with a broad spectrum of construction, materials, scheduling, and design activities. Willing to receive supervision and support from senior field representatives, Project Managers, and designers. Ideally, previous experience or internship as a Construction Inspector, CADD drafter, or materials inspector. Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents. Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses, and have the capability to learn and assist design teams with CADD drafting. Perform other duties as necessary. #LI-LA1 Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) Proven problem solving and documentation abilities Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads and bridges Collaborate with other field representatives or Project Managers. Ability to work independently and as part of a team Conduct reviews and verifications of construction schedules, and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications for construction projects Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed Interest and/or experience in the construction field Excellent oral and written communication skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing. HDR is a drug and alcohol free environment Preferred Qualifications EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression MNDOT Field Certifications and experience with Federal and State aid documentation is preferred Primavera P6 Scheduling Software experience Ability to perform work on Microstation or Autocad a plus Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection and materials testing Ability to interpret construction schedules Preference given to local candidates Why HDR At HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for it's also about what you do and how you do it.
