Emerson Senior Treasury Manager - Derivatives in St. Louis, Missouri

With $5B of global revenue, this business is a leading provider of compression products, electronics, software, and solutions across many applications within Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR), where macro and regulatory trends toward environmental sustainability leads to changes in HVACR technology. Other products include other heating applications, food service and retail, transportation, and healthcare/life sciences. This business also has a solution portfolio that manages, monitors, and controls refrigeration units in the commercial setting, as well as software solutions that measure and monitor temperature conditions of refrigerated goods in transit, where there is a greater emphasis on energy management/sustainability solutions globally.

Role Description

Reporting to the VP and Treasurer, the Sr. Treasury Manager - Derivatives will oversee the company’s global hedging operations and ensure compliance with internal policies as well as external regulations. The person in this role will manage the global derivative portfolio and related exposures with external trading counterparties and direct and supervise supporting staff members of the team. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for derivatives with other Company functional areas. The Sr. Treasury Manager - Derivatives will manage the treasury management systems required for managing the company’s global book of derivatives and will support special projects as required – including joint venture funding, foreign subsidiary capital structure changes, and treasury issues for acquisitions/divestitures.

AS THE SENIOR TREASURY MANAGER - DERIVATIVES, YOU WILL:

  • Stay abreast of all derivatives regulations that directly impact the Company’s hedging programs and communicate actions as necessary.

  • Develop and maintain audit-compliant processes for the derivatives group, and serve as the communications lead with internal and external audits as it relates to hedging.

  • Manage derivatives relationship with counterparties and determine best fits for derivatives business transacted with each counterparty.

  • Manage the relationships with all treasury management derivatives solution providers and related system implementations.

  • Research Company’s ability to hedge its foreign exchange and commodity exposures in various global jurisdictions.

  • Review all derivative reports provided to Corporate Accounting to ensure their integrity.

  • Provide any support to Corporate Treasury, Tax, Development, etc as it relates to any issues involving derivatives.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years of prior work experience, including over five (5) years in corporate treasury or banking

  • MBA or equivalent with a concentration in Finance

  • Deep understanding of financial markets, including FX, commodities, interest rates, and derivative valuation techniques

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical abilities

  • Able to handle a variety of special projects and interact with people in Tax, Legal, Accounting, and at the subsidiary level

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Knowledge of spreadsheet skills required with experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Experience using Oracle, HFM, statistical modeling, and hedge management software
