2025 Summer Internship – Military and Veterans Division, Federal Expansion Team

Title: Government Capture Intelligence Intern (Undergraduate)

Where You’ll Work:

This internship will be working with the Federal Expansion Team within the Military and Veterans Division. The intern will focus on projects including customer intelligence and analysis, researching various topics and news related to government contracting in healthcare. Support various business development and capture management activities (e.g., organization capabilities discovery, pipeline management, opportunity analysis). During the summer internship, you will have the opportunity to collaborate within your division and across the business while learning from some of our brightest and most innovative employees in your area of focus.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support Federal Business Development strategy by researching potential customers, small businesses, potential partners, and competitors and create an intelligence library.

  • Assist in maintaining active opportunities pipeline and related competitive intelligence data in our customer relationship management (CRM) tool.

  • Assist with opportunity analysis and research using government market intelligence tools and other sources.

  • Assist in varies activities throughout the Federal Bid Acquisition Process

  • Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate will be a rising junior or senior working towards a bachelor’s degree.

  • Preferred majors include Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.

  • 3.0 GPA or above preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to think strategically.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong business aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Self-starter who is eager to learn and acquire new skills.

Additional Information:

  • Location : This is an in-office or remote internship. Applicants could be aligned to the St. Louis office located at 1 Express Way, St. Louis, MO 63121

  • Work Authorization: One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with The Cigna Group post-graduation. Therefore, this temporary internship is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Schedule: You must be available to work 40 hours/week for 10-12 consecutive weeks beginning May 19, 2025. Working hours are Monday – Friday

  • Compensation: For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate between $20.00 and $23.00, depending on year of study.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
