Job Description Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for monitoring general accounting practices and implementing internal accounting controls for the Private Residence's HOA. This position is responsible for maintaining practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

Job Description

Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:

``` - Maintains the homeowner ledger. Verifies the completeness and accuracy of all homeowner account activity. Administers corrective action as warranted. - Executes timely and accurate billing of all homeowner accounts, complete with all supporting documentation. - Ensures timely and accurate payment process of homeowner accounts who pays with credit card. - Review the check deposit log before applying the payment in Appfolio. - Ensures posting of all payments to homeowner accounts. Ensures discrepancies are resolved on a timely basis. - Ensures timely response to homeowner requests and inquiries. - Resolves questions on homeowner accounts. Coordinate's homeowner account adjustments/corrections with the Residences Manager. - Responds to correspondence on an ongoing basis. Reviewed and prioritized for actions to be taken. - Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential. - Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. - Complete other tasks as needed or assigned. - Attend all department meetings.

Monthly:

  • Prepare and complete the month-end financial closings.

``` - All preliminary statements and G/L reports are to be distributed to the General Manager, Director of Finance, Residence Manager and Director of Engineering for review/approval. - Prepares and/or reviews all balance sheet account analysis and bank reconciliations, complete with supporting back-up. Clears any reconciling items before the following month-end.
