BUNZL Business Systems Manager for Supply Chain in St. Louis, Missouri

The Business Systems Manager for Supply Chain position applies the principles of supply chain management to expertise in warehouse management processes and technology knowledge of warehouse management systems to facilitate the translation of business needs into system solutions. Position will play a critical role as a business partner in the Supply Chain organization to understand business imperatives, perform feasibility analysis and to translate the business needs into requirements and functional specifications

Responsibilities:

  • Bridge the Supply Chain with technical delivery providers, both internal and external, and be responsible for the success of projects, ensuring that the business requirements are adequately considered in the design and delivery of solutions.

  • Be a role model for BRS’s company culture and core values.

  • Lead, manage and hold accountable all assigned Staff (Direct and Indirect).

  • Develop, implement, lead, and maintain a culture of continuous process improvement.

  • Create and ensure safe workplace environments in accordance with all Bunzl policies, promote a culture of safety first, and lead by example.

  • Work with the business community to perform functional analysis for designing solutions, evaluating options that include, but are not limited to, new program development, configuration of existing systems, business process redesign, new package/system evaluation or a combination of these options.

  • Evaluate multiple options and recommend the best course of action based on requirements coverage and effort required.

  • Make WMS configuration changes to support business processes.

  • Responsible for understanding business requirements and creating documentation as needed, functional requirements documents, process flows, business cases, gap analysis (as is vs. to be) documents.

  • Document, socialize and gain alignment with cross functional teams on key decisions that impact process and business operations.

  • Coordinate and perform system testing to ensure requirements are met.

  • Work closely with the project team during user acceptance testing (UAT), including tracking issues through to resolution and securing end user acceptance sign-off.

  • Create and deliver user documentation as necessary to ensure proper use of changed and newly implemented solutions.

  • Determine proper delivery method for this communication, one-on-one or classroom training, distribution of soft copy document, depend upon solution complexity and desire of the audience.

  • NOTE: This position is located in St. Louis, MO but allows for telecommuting anywhere in the U.S. The position requires 50% domestic travel to Bunzl offices to support leading change across warehouse network.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, Engineering or a technical related field) or foreign equivalent required

  • 5 plus years of relevant experience, including 5 years of logistics operations experience

  • 3 plus years of project management experience

  • 3 plus years of experience with end-to-end supply chain functional processes with strong business acumen in distribution and warehouse management systems (WMS), including TMS, and Koerber HighJump
