This is internship is base 100% onsite at our facility located in St. Joseph, MO. No relocation is offered for this role.
Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Supply Chain department located at our St. Joseph, MO facility. As an Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain a wide breadth of Supply Chain experience to include Global Supply/Logistics, Inventory Control, Planning, and Warehouse. This experience will touch on all four departments allowing the candidate to gain operational and process understanding on how each department functions and collaborates. The candidate will rotate through each department to obtain a rich and well-rounded Supply Chain experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
Learn about
Import and Export processes
Production material request process
Controlled and regulated materials storage and destruction processes
Internal customer service and inter-departmental process communication
Temperature-controlled shipments, associated packaging systems
How shipments are processed and shipped to customers
Supply Chain performance metrics
Work with
Site Safety Data sheets pertaining to material storage
Site material destruction process, forms, and routing procedure
Inventory and space management
Participate in collaborative relationships with transport (domestic/global) partner
Gain exposure to Supply Chain and Inventory management systems
Requirements
Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing
Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship
Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred
Major or minor in Supply Chain or Business field relating to internship
Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university
Graduate and Advanced Degree students completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university
Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
System knowledge and/or experience, preferred:
MS Office experience, strong preference to Excel, Word, Visio/Draw_io, Sharepoint, Teams
Business intelligence Tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) a plus
Database experience a plus
Desire to gain experience in Supply Chain, Global Supply, Planning, Inventory Control, and/or Warehousing.
Ability to learn inventory management systems
Ability to listen, take direction, and execute tasks reliably
Positive and can-do mindset
Eligibility Requirements
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
Be located near out site in St. Joseph for the summer- NO relocation is offered for this opening
