    Overview of the Role:

    This position is vital to the Distribution Center (DC) operations and to our goal of satisfying our customers by controlling inventory accuracy, receipt of goods, and shipments to customers. Plan and assign work tasks to the Team in a manner that allows everyone to be successful in their role. Works alongside team and provides instruction, guidance, and follow-up on their daily work assignments. Completes operational requirements as assigned by DC Manager/Supervisor. Backup for the DC Manager/Supervisor when the DC Manager/Supervisor is off the floor or is out of the operations. Active in problem solving to improve the operation of the DC, looking for areas to improve the operations and reduce cost. Normal daily operational Material Handler I & II duties when needed. Applies working knowledge of all the tasks in each DC process.

    Specific Responsibilities:

  • Complies with safety guidelines and promotes a clean and safe work environment.

  • Regular attendance and punctuality required.

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

  • Works with other members of the shift, providing training, guidance, work assignments and follow-up to ensure daily workload is achieved. 

  • Maintains WMS inventory /outbound/inbound accuracy & performs cycle counts.

  • Engage employees in a calm and professional manner.

  • Maintain accurate shipping performance of at least 99% by following the disciplines set forth.

  • Ensures that receiving & shipping personnel are reporting Vendor Compliance infractions as they occur.

  • Inspect the facility daily for safety hazards.

  • Adheres to all Human Resource, quality, operations and safety policies.

  • Has a working knowledge of all the tasks in the DC operations.  This includes knowledge of equipment certifications.  Should be an expert regarding loading, unloading, put-way, small-package shipping and our warehouse management system (WMS).

  • Work overtime as needed, which can be a daily requirement. 

  • Perform the Material Handler I and II job responsibilities.

    Other Functions:

  • Proficient in the safe operation of various types of Material Handler equipment, and RF scanners.

  • Aptitude for problem solving and removing bottle necks from process flow.

  • Self-starter

  • Ability to handle and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexible/Team player

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER SKILLS:

  • High school diploma required.

  • Strong basic math and reading skills.

  • Data Entry experience

  • Forklift experience preferred

  • Warehouse experience preferred

  • Experience in warehouse management systems (SAP or other) preferred

  • 1 year of Leadership experience preferred
