Duties:
- Performs tasks related to the creation and maintenance of an accurate records information retention system and related clerical duties and public services.
- Receives, compiles and processes information; updates records and files such as police reports, criminal files and gun registrations.
- Assists the public in person or by telephone.
- Performs LEIN queries, fingerprinting and firearms inspections.
- Collects fees for services provided.
- Operates a variety of office equipment during the course of duties.
- Trains new employees in all aspects of position.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years of general clerical and record keeping experience.
Special Requirements:
- Will be required to achieve and maintain LEIN certification.
- A pre-employment physical, drug test and background check are required before employment.
- Employee will be fingerprinted.
- Must be capable of maintaining confidentiality of information.
Typing Requirement:
Must have a typing speed of 50 words per minute net.
