BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
Work & perform as a Programmer at Metalcut Tool Services
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain part quoting processes, including customer relations
Develop new indexable tool and part designs from customer inputs
Develop best shop routing methods
Develop print definitions & interpretations
Develop print records & filing process
Develop part programming & processes
Train others as needed
Interact with customers, shop production associates, & sales staff to resolve issues
Interact on a daily basis with production associates and shop management.
Report & communicate to upper management team
Other duties as assigned from time to time by upper management.
Drives the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.
Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
2 years’ work experience in an engineering / programming/ manufacturing environment, 3, 4 and 5 Axis Machining experience, including setups. Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD & CAM expérience, AutoCAD experience (preferred), Hurco software experience (preferred), Haas software experience (preferred)
REQUIRED EDUCATION :
2 Year Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalency of 2 years work experience in this type of environment (preferred).
High School Degree (Required)

Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
Ability to develop & interpret blueprints
Ability to inspect & detect part defects
Ability to read & help develop work instructions
Ability to train others
Ability to remain patient and calm under stress.
Ability to handle and mitigate conflict with customers and other associates.
Ability to write reports, emails and other written communication with correct grammar and clear information.
Ability to communicate orally using correct grammar to communicate information clearly.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Stationed in the office approximately 90% of working time.
Occasional overtime hours required.
Attend to different tasks simultaneously
Work in a fast past environment
Work under deadlines

REQUIRED TRAINING FOR THE JOB:
Prior training: 2 years’ experience in the engineering / programming / manufacturing field
3, 4, and 5 Axis Machining experience and training
New Associate training: On-site and off-site job training with other Tru-Edge/Metalcut associates, Tru-Edge upper management, or designated training programs.
Machined parts/Indexable tool design training or experience
Autodesk Fusion 360 software training or experience
AutoCAD training or experience
JobBOSS2 ERP training or experience
Haas programming training or experience
Hurco programming training or experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
