LCI-Lawinger Consulting Principal Mechanical Engineer in St. Cloud, Minnesota

Our Client is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead projects.  This is a direct hire role / hybrid.

 

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you’ll lead a path of innovation, ingenuity, and technical excellence. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing all technical aspects of projects, collaborating with diverse teams to develop designs that not only meet but exceed customer expectations, ensuring our products remain competitive and cutting-edge.

  • Leading mechanical design and analysis efforts, delving into the complexities of machine structures, gearboxes, rails, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics to engineer groundbreaking solutions.

  • Managing project timelines, product costs, budgets, and other critical metrics with precision, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and objectives.

  • Fostering a collaborative and innovative environment through well-structured concept and design reviews, actively engaging with stakeholders to drive collective creativity.

  • Providing expert support to customer service, field installation, and sales teams, swiftly addressing and resolving any customer issues that arise.

To excel as our Principal Mechanical Engineer, you’ll need:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).

  • At least 10 years of experience in design and engineering, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.

  • Proficiency in analysis and root cause investigation tools, including simulations, FEA, free-body diagrams, DFMEA, and 8D methodologies (preferred).

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with CNC or robotic equipment design (preferred).
