Job Description

  • Plan, implement and manage local, regional and national alumni and constituent events.

  • Write and edit copy used to advertise events both online and in print.

  • Develop and provide event and program reports, track volunteer involvement and event attendance and recruit volunteers as need to assist with the event planning and implementation.

  • Maintain NetCommunity and coordinate with team members for social media and alumni association website updates.

  • Develop a comprehensive engagement and communication calendar alongside Advancement activities.

  • Develop and lead on the #OurSCSU (alumni impact stories) initiative.

  • Attend and assist with preparation for Alumni Association Board and committee meetings.

  • Participate in board member recruitment, development and new member training.

  • Develop marketing and engagement strategies and materials to increase alumni and constituent engagement with the University.

  • Identify potential interest/affinity groups and ways to deepen engagement with the student community.

  • Assist in the development of the alumni magazine -St Cloud State magazine -and the writing of various articles.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Reporting and data management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors' Degree and Experience of at least three years.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, collaboratively, strategically and tactfully with a variety of external and internal stakeholders.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and accurately manage complexprocesses.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently and productively under pressure.

  • Ability to plan, organize, facilitate and evaluate events.

  • Strong organizational skills along with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.

  • Ability to recruit, train and supervise volunteers and employees (student and full time staff).

  • Must exercise sound judgement and be able to handle sensitive information with tact.

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience of five or more years.

  • Experience working within a higher education institution .

  • Experience working with alumni and donors .

Other Requirements

Because some events are held on weekends and during evening hours, some extended work hours are required including overnight travel.

Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)

Typically 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, some evenings and weekends required.
