This position will work closely with campers requiring accommodations, providing individualized support to ensure their success and enjoyment in the camp environment. This role involves collaborating with camp staff to create an inclusive and creative environment.

2025 Foundry Art Camp is scheduled for 8 weeks beginning on June 2 and ending the week of July 28. There will be no camp the week of June 30. Staff orientation will be Sunday, May 18.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support (1 to 4 campers) for those needing special accommodations in art activities

  • Assist campers in engaging with art projects, modifying tasks to suit individual abilities

  • Collaborate with staff to implement tailored plans for each camper

  • Encourage social interaction and teamwork among campers in art settings

  • Monitor behavior and engagement, addressing challenges as they arise

  • Communicate with assistant camp director about camper progress and necessary adjustments

  • Participate in training and staff meetings focused on accommodating diverse needs

  • Assist with general camp duties to ensure a positive experience for all

    Minimum Training and Qualifications Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs or accommodations

  • Background in camp or art setting is a plus

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with parents and staff

  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for fostering creativity in children

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
