POSITION SUMMARY

Under general direction and with minimal supervision, act as the front-facing support liaison for IT. Interact with a broad range of clients requiring strong communication and customer service skills as well as the ability to use a wide variety of technical resources (i.e. vendor support). While performing all duties and responsibilities, the Technical Support Specialist will always model Sonaca North America values and principles and act in a manner consistent with the Sonaca North America Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Participate in project teams tasked with optimizing and automating business processes using low code solutions

  • Mendix Low Code Development

  • Develop applications using he Mendix code generator.

  • Work with form builders, pre-built templates and drag and drop visual entity builders.

  • Research and analyze internal business processes with the scope of optimizing and automating them

  • Develop training tools (user manuals, cheat sheets, process flow documents) and coordinate and conduct end-user training.

  • Write documentation to provide user support for programs and for production/operating procedures.

  • Systems Analysis and Development

  • Participate in gathering and documenting requirements from the business.

  • Analyze user system and application needs, determine, and evaluate potential solutions, develop system specifications and requirements, and design application programs to meet the requirements.

  • Research, analyze and evaluate current technical trends, emerging technologies and standards, new software functionality, and alternative software solutions to determine applicability and viability.

    Travel Required

  • Minimal, 10% of Time Traveling (dependent upon project needs and stakeholder location)

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

  • 3+ years of related work experience with Mendix is required.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, with focus on Power Apps or other equivalent low code platforms.

  • Basic SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and general Web 2.0 techniques experience

  • Ability to diagnose application issues and to decide what can be done with low-code instead of traditional coding (80/20 rule)

  • Understanding of application security with general understanding of current security threats

  • Conceptual and practical understanding of IT Infrastructure, products, and services, such as networking protocols, encryption, and other technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and acquire new technologies in the areas of web & mobile application development

  • Able to provide accurate estimates of timeframes necessary to complete potential projects and develop milestones and project implementation plans

  • Ability to analyze and creatively solve complex technical problems

  • Ability to work in a group setting and independently

    Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk working and/or attending meetings with periodic breaks

  • Must be able to move throughout the office and/or manufacturing area and talk, hear or otherwise communicate with employees, management, customers, suppliers and others

  • May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10 pounds
