Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Backend Software Engineer, focusing on product improvements. This role is in the tech industry, specifically in software development, and is based in St Augustine, Florida. This position is remote, allowing you to work from any location.

Responsibilities:

• Develop backend software using Java and Python

• Work with the RADIUS protocol to enhance network security.

• Ensure the efficient performance of backend operations.

• Collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues.

• Monitor and optimize system performance.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements.

• Ensure software is up-to-date with the latest technologies.

• Participate in all phases of the development life cycle.

• Maintain and improve code quality through writing unit tests, automation, and performing code reviews.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Backend Development is required.

• Strong knowledge and experience in Java is necessary.

• Must have experience in Python.

• Experience in PostgreSQL is essential.

• Proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux is a must.

• Must have a strong understanding of computer science principles.

• Experience in collaborative environments and teamwork is essential.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.

• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

• Experience in Agile methodologies is beneficial.

• Familiarity with version control systems like Git is required.

• An understanding of software testing principles is preferred.
