GENERAL PURPOSE
Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Prepare items for shipment. Compile and create shipping paperwork for finished product and maintain accurate records of shipping volumes and information. Schedule shipping and delivery appointments and process returns, corrections, samples, and exports, etc., on finished goods. Keep inventory of shipping materials and supplies and keep records of all materials and equipment that enter or leave the facility.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare items for shipping according to specifications and the applicable transportation method
· Create shipment documents
· Affix shipping labels, identifying information, and shipping instructions onto shipment; post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage
· Determine best methods of shipment utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
· Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
· Maintain accurate records/tracking details of incoming and outgoing shipments; maintain records of shipping volumes by day
· Consolidate shipping orders, as appropriate
· Process additional or special customer requests in a timely and accurate manner
· Schedule pickup and delivery appointments ensuring product is released for shipment
· Verify accuracy and process split pallets into system
· Create shipments and deliveries on sales orders in system, as needed
· Help ensure proper storage, inventory, and security of all products/items
· Direct movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to storage and work areas
· Maintain appropriate records, files, documentation and resolve routine to moderately difficult problems

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
· 1 to 2 years shipping/receiving, warehouse, transportation, or related experience
· Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
· Able to respond courteously and efficiently to inquiries, complaints, and requests
· Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
· Able to work with accuracy and detail oriented
· Able to follow directions and meet deadlines
· Able to problem solve, multi-task and prioritize own work activities
· Able to perform tasks and duties without constant supervision
· Must be able to read, write and speak English
