POSITION TITLE: Quality Technician

REPORTING TO: Quality Supervisor

LOCATION: St. Albans, VT

Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. May suggest or recommend changes regarding special requirements. May assist with Total Quality Management programs.

SHIFT HOURS: Wednesday - Saturday 3:00pm - 1:30am

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review and prepare samples for shipment for key/ critical retail customers including appropriate forms and weight control charts. Update, review and analyze weight for regular retail control charts.

  • Perform water/air sampling including accompanying data entry. Obtain monthly water reports from the City, review and sign.

  • Responsible for Degree of Differences panel preparation, communication and reports.

  • Set up for blocking and sampling during production for customer analysis.

  • Create and modify ISO forms as needed.

  • Release emails for sample room, work with Inventory Coordinators for inventory adjustments and rework conversions.

  • Food Allergen Research and Resource Program or external lab sample preparation including forms.

  • Responsible for swabbing & inventory levels including reordering and changes.

  • Perform production floor quality verification of critical to quality parameters

  • Set up rework for SAP conversion and labels.

  • Responsible for food and employee safety as well as meeting all regulatory requirements for both.

  • Prepare and change as needed presentation slides with accurate data.

  • Performing lab testing as needed

  • Support both liquid and solid raw material reception for compliance to BC quality standards

  • Train operators and perform ring tests for analytical equipment

  • Maintain and order supplies for lab equipment

    About you:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum (2) two years inspection/production experience in a food manufacturing environment.

  • High degree of computer literacy (Microsoft Office and SAP) with excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to stand on concrete floor for long periods of time

  • Bend, squat, stretch, reach; frequently

  • Ability to climb stairs, often

  • Must be able to lift minimum of 30lbs, often

  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the facility

  • Noise level can exceed .85 decibels
