POSITION: Journeyman Plant Electrician

LOCATION: Springville, UT

Job Summary: The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems specifically related to Aggregate Production Plants in heavy civil construction and equipment shop settings. This role requires expertise in managing complex electrical systems that are integral to the operation of aggregate processing and asphalt production equipment. The electrician will work independently or as part of a team to ensure all electrical systems function safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install and repair electrical systems in Aggregate Production Plants, including wiring, motors, control systems, and electrical panels.

• Perform regular maintenance and inspections on electrical components of Aggregate Production Plants to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.

• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems specific to the operation of crushing and asphalt plants, providing effective solutions to minimize operational disruptions.

• Read and interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints related to Asphalt, Ready Mix and Crushers.

• Stay up-to-date with industry codes, standards, and best practices, ensuring all work complies with relevant regulations.

• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to understand electrical needs and provide recommendations to improve plant efficiency and safety.

• Train and mentor apprentices or less experienced electricians, particularly in the specialized requirements of Asphalt Plants, Ready Mix Plants and Crushers.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, strictly following all safety protocols and procedures, particularly when working around heavy machinery.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an apprenticeship program and Journeyman Electrician certification.

• 3+ years of experience in electrical installation and repair, with specific experience in Asphalt Plants, Ready Mix, Portable Concrete Plants and Crushers preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems and codes, with the ability to interpret complex schematics and blueprints.

• Familiarity with electrical tools and equipment used in heavy civil construction, particularly those used in maintaining and repairing Asphalt Plants, Ready Mix and Crushers

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, especially in diagnosing issues related to aggregate processing and asphalt production equipment.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively with other trades and plant operators.

• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying environmental conditions typically found in heavy civil construction sites.

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

• Willingness to travel throughout Western States (Utah, Arizona, Colorado and Nevada)
