Amentum IT Asset Management SME in Springfield, Virginia

Amentum is seeking an IT Asset Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Springfield, VA.

You have excellent communication, time management, and detail-oriented skills, which you’ll use overseeing and managing equipment for nearly 250 sites worldwide and managing the daily operation and administration of the warehouse facility. You will connect with our customers and team members domestically and overseas via email or Microsoft Teams to coordinate shipping and project status updates. Also, you will improve efficiencies in the planning, managing, controlling, directing, and coordinating the overall activities of other personnel and logistical support to refine industrial work processes.

Responsibilities

  • Works as part of the Logistics Support team (Alongside the Supply Chain Planning & Procurement Manager and Buyers) in supporting the customer’s procurement requirements.

  • Works with internal customers, suppliers, external customers and program business leadership as needed to meet goals and communicate performance.

  • Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights; create comprehensive reports and dashboards to support business decision-making.

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze large data sets using advanced Microsoft Excel functions.

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data through validation and cleansing processes; manage and maintain databases and data systems.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements; translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in all tasks, ensuring thoroughness and precision in work outputs.

  • Assists with asset management duties like annual inventory procedures for associated offices. Includes supporting internal ‘office’ asset management processes, hand receipts, and tracking of items. Also assists with warehouse asset management procedures and related work.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, and at least 4 years of experience managing and procuring IT assets

  • Or an Associates degree, and at least 6 years of experience managing and procuring IT assets

  • Or a High School diploma/GED, and at least 8 years of experience managing and procuring IT assets

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience

  • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong adaptability, capable of handling various tasks and shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment

  • Proven ability to work well in a team setting, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
