Human Geographer - Mid-Level
Location: Springfield, VA

Role Description
We are presently identifying candidates for the following position: Human Geographer - Mid-Level. A Human Geographer (HG) applies an understanding of geography, research, GIS, data conflation, and management skills to produce a broad array of human geography products including attributed data, maps, and written reports. Production phases for HG projects and products may include research, discovery, evaluation, extraction, creation, geo-enabling, quality control/review, metadata attribution, source citation, service enabling and dissemination.
Minimum Qualifications
U.S. Citizen
Active Top-Secret/SCI security clearance at time of application and willingness to complete a CI poly upon request.
Five to ten (5-10) years of relevant and specialized professional experience in human geography, geospatial analysis, pattern of life, regional/functional expertise, and/or Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Bachelor's degree in Geography or another related field can substitute for 3 years of professional experience requirement; Master's degree in related field can account for 2 years of requirement.
Demonstrated proficiency in relevant software applications such as ESRI products (ArcPro, ArcMap), SOCET GXP, QGIS, Remoteview, or similar electronic light table applications, GRiD, DVOF, IGW, GAIT etc.; previous GEOINT production experience preferred.
Experience using feature layers (shapefiles), raster data (imagery/DEM), geodatabases (GDB, FDB), cartographic products, and safe data handling and storage procedures.
Ability to produce GEOINT products to NGA standards and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidates should have completed relevant Formal/Advanced Military Training (Tech School, Advanced Individual Training, A School, or other MOS/AFSC/Rate granting equivalent) or have a current GEOINT Professional Certification-Foundations (GPC-F).
Knowledge of NGA Products and Services such as Maritime and Aeronautical maps and charts, Geographic Names Database (GNDB), imagery and data repositories.
Experience with Python scripting.
Work Environment
Work is within a team environment and will be conducted on site in Springfield, VA.
