POSITION SUMMARY:

This position performs project planning and execution on small and low complexity key initiatives in accordance with Bass Pro Shops defined Project Management Methodology. This position will lead 4-8 small projects concurrently. This position is accountable to lead project teams to deliver specified project benefits. This position is accountable for accuracy of all project data; including project budget, schedule, resources, financial accruals and project artifacts. This position prepares for and participates in both internal and external project audits. This position will interface with multiple departments and multiple levels of outfitters within Bass Pro Shops. This position requires the ability to professionally communicate with both internal teams and external vendors while maintaining confidentiality agreements as put in place by Bass Pro Shops. Individuals in this position are expected to demonstrate professionalism and promote a positive influence on peers as well as exercise discretion and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Drive project decisions that align with Bass Pro Shops long term vision and strategy

  • Drive delivery of on time, on budget projects that deliver agreed upon business benefits

  • Maintain accurate project data

  • Partner with Project Controls and Capacity Management to monitor and maintain project spending, schedule, resources and project folders

  • Compile information and prepare project change requests

  • Lead risk and issue management • Resolve project roadblocks and conflicts proactively and with urgency

  • Build, improve and maintain Enterprise Portfolio Services (EPS) image within Cabela's

  • Seek feedback to better develop skills and knowledge

  • Adhere to Cabela’s Project Management Methodology

  • Develop and refine estimates related to project budgets and schedules

  • Forecast, resolve and communicate all scope, schedule and budget issues

  • Assign roles and resources in the scheduling tool to allow for the ability to identify availability and potential constraints • Understand and utilize developed reports to control project budget and schedule

  • Analyze project metrics and variances from approved baselines and implement corrective action

  • Prepare for and participate in both internal and external project audits

  • Create and execute of communication plan

  • Provide regular status updates to project sponsor, champion, project stakeholders and project team members

  • Drive project team engagement through communication and inclusion

  • Communicate with both internal teams and external vendors while maintaining confidentiality

  • Follow-up to all communications

  • Prepare and distribute status reports

  • Create and present C level management updates upon request

  • Provide feedback upon request for employee appraisals

  • Participate in and support PMM process improvement initiatives

  • Seek opportunities for self and others to expand experiences, skill development, growth and acumen

  • Adapt leadership to meet the needs of individuals or business challenges

  • Align decisions to company goals

  • Track and manage all project costs including capital budget

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Computer Science or equivalent work related experience.

  • 2-4+ years of experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Project required

  • Understands all processes involved in Project Management based on PMI preferred

  • Proficient in written and oral communication

  • Working Knowledge of internet navigation required

  • Occasional walking, standing, and lifting

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
