POSITION SUMMARY:

The Banquet Houseperson successfully sets-up, breaks down, cleans and organizes all banquet spaces and functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains cleanliness of banquet, meeting, and conference areas to meet established cleanliness and quality standards.

  • Ensures equipment is in full working order and report any defects.

  • Projects a professional manner to guests and team members.

  • Follows proper food storage, handling and preparation standards.

  • Adheres to established Ecosure standards.

  • Assists and serves guests in functions as needed.

  • Assists back of house team as needed.

  • Sets up and breaks down tables as needed.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6 months experience in banquets

  • Missouri class E or Arkansas P designated driver's license and a safe driving record is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear.

  • Frequently required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Occasionally required to sit and taste or smell.

  • Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

  • Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
