Clark State College Project Director, Aspire Programs in Springfield, Ohio

Description

 

The Project Director for Aspire Programs is responsible for leading and managing all initiatives related to adult education for Aspire students in the High School Equivalency and ESOL programs. This role involves providing strategic direction and oversight for Clark State's Aspire program. The Project Director ensures the development and implementation of high-quality instructional practices, assessments and universal designs for learning strategies that promote student success. This position also includes overseeing the recruitment, hiring, and training of part-time and full-time instructional or support/ administrative staff. By fostering community partnerships and leveraging resources, the Project Director will work to ensure program sustainability, meet enrollment goals, and enhance the overall impact of Aspires' programs in supporting adult learners' educational and career advancement.  This position is partially funded through a grant from the Ohio Department of Education. The current grant cycle ends 6.30.2025 with the opportunity to renew.

  • Manage the Aspire (ABLE) Grant budget, approximately $265,000

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* *

Provides leadership and planning for all instructional and curricular development activities designed to support Adult Education Programs including Aspire classes, High School Equivalency preparation, ESOL, and college preparation classes that prepares students for successful completion of various High School Equivalency programs or Accuplacer assessment.

Completes grant applications and ensures fiscal activities are properly documented and reported in compliance with State and College policies.

Researches and applies for outside grant opportunities to support the program's ongoing needs.

Collaborates in developing and implementing a strategy to actively publicize programs and recruit participants to ensure enrollment goals are met.

Develops procedures to move students through the processes of orientation, class placement, post assessment, activities for all Aspire classes and transitioning out of the program.

Stays current on best practices in Adult Education Programs and English as a Second or Other Language learners and ensures Aspire staff are trained and effective in student-centered practices.

Works across functional areas to leverage resources to implement strategic goals related to adult education and English language learners.

Develops community partnerships in support of the program's goals and activities.

Observes classes regularly to provide instructor feedback and keep a pulse on student and instructor experiences.
