The Grants Development Director secures external funding for college priorities by identifying grant opportunities, and then researching, writing, organizing and submitting grant proposals to appropriate funding organizations. This position works with staff, faculty and community partners to develop successful proposals.  This position ensures that all proposals are aligned with the College's strategic plan and that commitments within all proposals are approved by college administration prior to submittal. Additionally, this position coordinates award submissions for the college faculty and staff, as directed by college leadership.  The Grants Development Director is expected to generate funding in excess of the Grants Office budget, as determined by supervisor.   RELATIONSHIPS AND CUSTOMERS

DIMENSIONS * * This position must ensure that proposals comply with College business practices and that any related budgets and other resource commitments are approved by College administration. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.

Develops responsive and effective grant proposals in consultation with appropriate internal and external constituents. 

2. 

Identifies grant opportunities at the local, state, and national levels that are consistent with Clark State's strategic plan.

3.

Communicates with College faculty and staff and community partners to identify needs and grant projects.

4.

Develops and executes comprehensive project management plans for each grant development opportunity. 

5. 

Manages external and contracted grant developers as needed. 

6. 

Creates and works with teams (including faculty, staff, and grant partners) to develop proposals as the lead project manager. 

7.

Researches projects and locates data about the college and community to support proposals.

8.

Maintains electronic and print grant records.

9.

Works with the Business Office and senior administrators to develop budgets for grant proposals. Ensures that any grant-imposed requirements of the College are approved by the appropriate administrators.

10.

Prioritizes grant projects as needed.
