Valcor Engineering ENGINEER, STRESS SR. in Springfield, New Jersey
The Stress Engineer’s duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Requirements
Perform Finite Element (ANSYS) structural, modal, thermal, vibration and shock, line loads, fatigue detailed analysis for complex mechanisms
Verify analysis using hand calculations
Use standard NASA calculations for flanged joints, crack growth, bolts static and dynamic loads
Familiarity with LS-Dyna analysis package, 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred), and GD&T
Ability to recommend practical design improvements as required
Proven ability to write complete stress analysis reports
Ability to present analysis reports
Work on a daily basis with valves, actuators, tubes, pressurized components, and other aerospace hardware
Ad-hoc as required by Chief Engineer
Education and Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent field of study
10+ years of experience in stress analysis, ideally within Aerospace and Aircraft industries
Have sound engineering fundamentals
Desire to work with team of dynamic, high stress/high reward, diversified team of dedicated aerospace engineers
Working knowledge of aerospace materials and treatments
Previous experience with modeling programs, but not limited to, CAD/AutoCAD software and other engineering product data management (EPDM) software
