BUCKHORN Relief Operator(s) - 1694-8458 in Springfield, Missouri

Position Summary

The Relief Operator assists in monitoring the production of the product and assists in on the job training activities for new employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to adequately perform all lines
  • Properly relieve employees within assigned zone
  • Provide information and support to basic operator questions
  • Provide OJT to operators within working zone based on training plan
  • Knowledge of equipment and safe operation of tools and allowed equipment
  • Must be able to read and understand the build of material and standard work instructions
  • Adherence to all safety protocol and procedures
  • Assists with 5S process and procedures. Encourages team members to follow 5S practices
  • Understands and follows procedures for secondary operations (hot stamp, router, pin machines, etc.)
  • Determines and segregates scrap. Completes manual scrap papers
  • Understands and follows Machine Down procedure
  • Actively replenish supplies for production operators as required
  • Foster an environment of teamwork
  • Provide people, line and product issues to appropriate personnel
  • Addresses deviations from Standard Work with operators
  • Thorough understanding of quality standards and process
  • Conduct daily safety observations
  • Performs On-the-Job Training for Production Operator I, II, III and IIII

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Ability to perform all production lines safety and efficiently
  • Exhibited leadership qualities within projects or quantifiable actions
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Excel, CMS or other data gathering/reporting tools
  • Previous training experience
  • Two years of experience in a manufacturing plant
  • Familiarity with injection-molding
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
