Nexstar Media Group Morning News Producer in Springfield, Missouri
Ozarks First in Springfield, Missouri is hiring a morning newscast producer. We are looking for someone who understands time management and can handle deadline stress. You must have a passion for writing and storytelling. And it’s incredibly important that you are a team player and a collaborator.
The producer builds the rundown, writes news scripts, edits the video, creates graphics, communicates with the team, and times the broadcast. Anyone who wants to be considered for the role must be willing to work 12a-8a.
What is Required:
Take an active role in daily editorial discussions
Select stories and organize them into a cohesive sequence
Clear, concise, conversational writing skills
Copyedit stories and spellcheck graphics
Write creative headlines and teases
Edits video and sound
Adjust a rundown to add breaking news
Time a newscast from our control room
Communicate effectively with anchors, multi-media journalists, photographers, meteorologists, sports, digital, news managers, production, and engineering staff
Additional Skills:
Fluency in English with strong spelling and grammar
Willing to learn our computer systems and programs
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks
Flexibility to work any shift, with some late notice of shift and schedule changes
Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
