Baystate Health Intern - Application Analyst in Springfield, Massachusetts

Summary :

The Information Technology non-clinical intern will assist the IT team in various tasks related to the organization's technology infrastructure and systems. The intern will gain hands-on experience in supporting IT operations, troubleshooting technical issues, and contributing to IT projects under the guidance of experienced IT professionals.

Job Responsibilities:

1) Accepts designated, business-focus projects to research, propose ideas and solutions, and present the final project(s) during the internship.

Have the ability to learn and understand various vendor supported enterprise applications and relevant technical skills within a healthcare I&T environment.

2) Provides suggestions to management regarding improvements as appropriate

3) Actively participates in department meetings

4) Engages with team members and takes on tasks as assigned

5) Provide technical support to end-users by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues

6) Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and software applications

7) Document IT procedures, guidelines, and troubleshooting steps to maintain knowledge base resources

8) Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, including IT security protocols and confidentiality agreements

Required Work Experience:

1) As required by the hiring manager

Preferred Work Experience:

1) Prior industry experience or currently enrolled in a degree program related to Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Have the ability to learn and understand business applications and support lifecycle.

  • Demonstrate attention to detail in the system documentation.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.

  • Demonstrate an engagement in the experiences being offered as well as the material being presented as a part of this internship.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Demonstrate a customer service focus and provide technical support to end-users by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.

  • Operate in a professional environment in support of Baystate Health’s operating principles.

  • Demonstrates confidentiality and professionalism throughout the duration of the internship.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Duration and Compensation:

  • The weekly hours and duration will be agreed upon based on the hiring manager and candidate.

  • Compensation and benefits may vary based on the organization's policies and the intern's qualifications.
