Springfield Housing Authority District Clerk - Public Housing in Springfield, Massachusetts

The Springfield Housing Authority, consistent with its equal opportunity and affirmative action policies, invites applicants for the position of Program Clerk. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits package. Rate: $20.24 per hour, 40 hours/ week.
Position will remain open until filled.
The clerk reports to a property manager and is responsible for:
Receiving visitors, answering phones and general office work such as filing.
Calculating rent changes. Scheduling appointments with tenants to complete the re-certification process and assist tenants with completion of forms. Interview tenants annually to determine family composition and income. Contact various public agencies, employers and banking institutions to determine continued eligibility.
Preparing occupancy packets.
Distributing parking stickers.
Posting checks and prepare bank deposits.
Posting legal charges. Preparing landlord verifications.
Assisting in the collection of rents.
Administering court documents including summary process and file in the court.
.Preparing vacate notices.
Preparing reports. Maintain court and in-house agreements. Prepare 14 day notices.
Providing other administrative and clerical support to the property management office.
Skills and knowledge typically acquired through the completion of an associate degree in business or related field. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to navigate through information systems software. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to communicate with a diverse population. Previous experience in an office setting. Bi-lingual preferred.
