DataRobot GenAI, Technical Enablement Manager in Springfield, Illinois

Job Description:

DataRobot is the leader in Value-Driven AI, a unique and collaborative approach to generative and predictive AI that combines an open platform, deep expertise and broad use-case experience to improve how organizations run, grow and optimize their business. The DataRobot AI Platform is the only complete AI lifecycle platform that interoperates with an organization’s existing investments in data, applications and business processes, and can be deployed on prem or on any cloud environment. Global organizations, including 40% of the Fortune 50, rely on DataRobot to drive greater impact and value from AI.

The Enablement Data Scientist, Generative AI, will support DataRobot’s generative AI initiatives by developing, providing, and maintaining hands-on expertise in our generative AI technologies. You will work cross-functionally across Product, Product Marketing, Engineering, and our Applied AI Experts team to (1) educate the Customer Success team on the technical capabilities of our generative AI solutions as well as caveats, (2) identify and surface solvable technical friction and unexpected opportunities or synergies in service of product development, and (3) serve as a generative AI SME for product marketing’s joint value propositions.

Our generative AI initiatives are a key area of DataRobot’s growth and revenue potential, and we expect you to own this enablement category. That involves proactively identifying concepts that require enablement, designing effective assets for the field, and measuring their impact. Our ideal candidate is excited to learn new technologies, unafraid of diving deep into documentation, and energized by working across multiple teams and functions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of breaking down complex problems into steps that drive organizational learning and product development. The ideal candidate will also understand prompt engineering, build domain-specific models leveraging (ideally) vector search, and/or have experience with fine-tuning LLMs (Large Language Models).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical discussions and be a thought leader during technical enablement sessions.

  • Conduct hands-on workflow proofs with generative AI technologies and document your findings.

  • Create assets, such as hands-on labs, to educate the Customer Success team on the technical aspects of generative AI.

  • Establish, with repeatable methodology, an impact measurement of your workflows.

  • In partnership with PMM, communicate with Product about generative AI roadmaps, potential integration opportunities, and limitations/frictions observed during hands-on work.

  • Establish and maintain a Slack support presence, particularly for Customer Success generative AI questions.

  • Manage and surface volunteer contributions as available from the field.

  • Support Customer Success teams in sales, retention, and expand opportunities with regards to generative AI solutions.

  • Collaborate with your Competitive Intelligence teammate on overlapping technical efforts in generative AI to scale shared efforts by reducing workflow duplication and minimizing vendor costs.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of data science, machine learning, and AI technologies, focusing on generative AI.

  • Hands-on experience with one or more cloud providers: AWS, GCP, or Azure.

  • Fluent in Python and SQL.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Exceptional attention to detail when reviewing technical documentation, bug hunting, and generating internal documentation.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Some travel may be required (e.g., to AWS re:Invent).

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in a SaaS or technology-focused company.

  • Experience in the healthcare, retail, and/or financial services industries.

  • Familiarity with industry trends and emerging technologies in generative AI.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as an applied Data Scientist.
