Red River Business Development Director in Springfield, Illinois

Position Summary: Reporting to a VP of Sales, this position sells Managed Service capability that covers service desk, network, datacenter, collaboration and security services with extensive knowledge in IT service management to address the entire breadth of client opportunities in the evolving market of cloud and digital solutions

Primary Position Tasks:

  • Identify and qualify opportunities according to Red River Managed Services processes, tracking and reporting them through provided tools and pipeline meetings, prospectively

  • Exceed revenue quota goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis

  • Demonstrate the ability to respond promptly to client inquiries, while providing them with the proper information and access to subject matter experts (SMEs) based on the client's specific needs and interests

  • Develop business plans, which align to the assigned geographic and client needs.

  • Engage and work with service lines, contract management, marketing, and partners as appropriate with the singular goal of bringing the best answers to clients to grow revenue and contribution margin

  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop and execute marketing plans for clients, advisors, and partners

  • Follow-up on all leads supplied and ensure internal sales tracking systems are updated

  • Marshal and lead the appropriate technical resources to demonstrate Red River Managed Services’ advantages to the client

  • Follow-up with clients and work with account and delivery teams to ensure consistent and ongoing coverage of account including new sales opportunities

  • Understand and work in all aspects of the sales cycle, including qualifying, presentations, demonstrations, RFP responses, negotiations, closing, and the booking process

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the assigned geography including the clients, the prospects, the partners, the influencers, and the competitors

  • Maintain the highest level of client satisfaction within the accounts in your assigned states through a systematic means of introducing innovation and value creation that demonstrate an anticipatory understanding of your prospect’s needs

  • Maintain a positive, professional 'total client service' attitude and demonstrate Red River Managed Services’ Values

  • Coordinate, plan, and schedule sales support functions with Technical Sales staff

  • Demonstrate the ability to create and manage conversations at all business and technical levels of a client's organization from the C-suite to the administrative assistant pool.

  • Utilize communication, reporting, and tracking tools and keep all your information up to date.

Minimum Education/Certification/Experience Requirements :

  • Some previous understanding of government and technology strongly preferred

  • Experience managing a pipeline of business focused on year-over-year Growth

  • 5 years of experience selling into the Russell 2000 market with demonstrated knowledge and experience in the Eastern US.

  • Experience developing and executing Account Strategies

  • 10+ years of IT Sales experience within the relevant account(s)

Preferred Education/Certification/Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Ideal candidates have a strong focus on day-to-day operational excellence, and a personal style that builds trust, and inspires loyalty

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven results in a quota-oriented sales environment and an understanding of technology and technological innovations

  • Ability to network

  • Willingness to take direction and learn

  • Strong writing skills required

  • The candidate should be motivated, proactive, be able to learn and adapt quickly.

Essential Elements (Mental; Physical; Equipment used):

  • This position is an office position that requires remaining in a stationary position for multiple hours throughout the workday.

  • This position requires the ability to continuously communicate with co-workers throughout the day utilizing Red River approved and/or provided communication tools and equipment.

Special Requirements:

  • The position requires up to 50% travel for conferences, trade shows, customer visits, as well as local travel for meetings
