HP Inc. PC Management Engineer in Spring, Texas

The base pay range for this role is $118,050 to $181,800 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

This is an on-site role in Spring, Texas.

This position will own the technical development of edge AI computing infrastructure including the management, policies, and systems to operate at enterprise scale. Creation and documentation of use cases and related computer requirements including Hardware Management, software, Security, and productivity software solutions.

This engineer is responsible for providing advanced engineering and troubleshooting for desktop hardware, software, and network issues. They will also help co-develop new features with product teams and develop new services that create value for HP. The engineer will work closely with other IT teams and end users to ensure optimal performance and security of the ecosystem. The engineer leads projects that improve employee experiences including reducing digital friction, ensuring platform stability, and providing access to the newest tools.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems involving desktop systems, applications, and connectivity

  • Develop tools and processes that can automate problem management and remediation across thousands of devices.

  • deploy, configure, maintain, and upgrade device hardware, software, and peripherals, following IT standards and policies

  • Monitor and optimize desktop performance, security, and availability

  • Collaborate with other IT teams and vendors to ensure alignment and integration of desktop services

  • Participate in projects related to desktop services, such as migrations, deployments, upgrades, and audits

  • Provide training and guidance to end users and junior desktop engineers

  • Create and update documentation and procedures for desktop services

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in desktop engineering, preferably in a large and complex IT environment

  • Advanced knowledge of desktop hardware, software, and network technologies, such as Windows, Office 365, Active Directory, intune, VPN, and antivirus

  • Knowledge of Gen AI and experience with Microsoft development teams

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders and users

  • Self-motivated and team-oriented, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Certifications in Microsoft, CompTIA, Service Now, Palo Alto Networks and other relevant technologies

  • Extensive experience with DEX tools is a must

  • Prior experience with design thinking, UX methodology, and customer experience tools is highly desirable
