We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Corporate Tax Staff Accountant role in Spring, Texas. This role will be part of a small, focused team where you will be responsible for a variety of accounting and tax tasks. The role will be a hybrid working arrangement after initial on-site training. Responsibilities:

• Manage and conduct general accounting tasks such as journal entries and account reconciliation.

• Assist with the preparation and filing of corporate tax and sales and use tax returns.

• Use Microsoft Excel for tasks such as creating pivot tables and carrying out VLOOKUP functions.

• Ensure meticulous attention to detail in all tasks, particularly when processing and maintaining tax records.

• Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders regarding tax matters.

• Be prepared to handle an increased scope of responsibilities over time, although the transition to a managerial role may not be immediate due to the team's size.

• Be on-site for certain tasks such as check cutting for returns, and for specific days for printing and mailing checks.

Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of one year of experience in corporate tax accounting

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Demonstrated experience in corporate tax return preparation

• Familiarity with sales tax returns is necessary

• Must possess skills in tax - sales & use

• Experience in account reconciliation is important

• Should be capable of maintaining and preparing journal entries effectively

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary

• Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively

• Knowledge of tax software and applications is a plus

• Must adhere to strict confidentiality and data privacy rules

• Ability to work in a team-focused environment

• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
