Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Energy Services team. This role focuses on managing revenue recognition processes, overseeing contracts, and ensuring compliance with state and local regulations. The ideal candidate is skilled in utilizing SAGE Intact, has strong Excel capabilities, and is deeply knowledgeable about GAAP and ASC 606. A background in intercompany accounting and experience in managing financial compliance across multiple entities is essential. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, with a large organization exceeding $35 million in annual revenue. We value individuals who can implement innovative accounting practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and effectively manage the financial operations of a complex, multi-entity structure.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Recognition and Accounting Operations
Oversee revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Manage key accounting functions, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Inventory Accounting.
Contract Management
Analyze and manage customer and vendor contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment and revenue allocation.
Collaborate with operational and legal teams to review and optimize contract terms.
Compliance with State and Local Regulations
Ensure compliance with state and local income tax, sales tax, and use tax processes.
Lead efforts to meet regulatory requirements for multiple companies under one parent entity.
Audit and Financial Reporting
Prepare for and coordinate external audits, ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
Create detailed financial analyses, reports, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Systems Implementation and Process Improvement
Implement new accounting systems and tools, focusing on seamless integration and efficiency.
Continuously optimize accounting practices to enhance overall financial performance.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to align accounting practices with business goals.
Support leadership in budget preparation and variance analysis.
SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $95,000

Requirements
Qualifications:
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required); MBA (preferred).
CPA or CMA certification (preferred).
Experience:
Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, preferably in the energy services sector.
Familiarity with large organizations (revenue exceeding $35 million) and multi-entity structures.
Expertise in GAAP and ASC 606.
Experience in implementing new accounting systems and managing intercompany accounts.
Skills and Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in SAGE Intact and advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership capabilities.
Compliance and Audit Expertise:
Deep knowledge of state and local tax regulations.
Experience in audit preparation and coordination with external auditors.
