Job Description

The Business Systems Analyst position is critical to the success of the design, configuration, enhancement, and testing of Avista’s transactional and customer facing technology. The successful candidate will be joining a highly capable team that is responsible for three primary areas within the organization. Specifically, our team is responsible for the enhancement and configuration of the ‘Customer Information and billing system’ (CIS), the ‘customer facing technology’ applications (such as myavista.com) and the ‘customer relationship management’ application. Combined, these applications help support over 9 million customer contacts every year. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on both internal and external customer experience by helping the organization maintain and deliver core business capabilities to both our customers and employees.

This role will be focused on support, configuration changes, reporting, testing and enhancement of our critical customer systems, such as our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System and our Customer Information and Billing System (CIS). This role has a direct impact on driving positive business and customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business problems and recommend solutions.

  • Design and assist in implementing metrics that can be utilized to understand and prioritize future enhancements to systems.

  • Support implementation of operational processes and procedures in collaboration with end user business unit(s).

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, including business stakeholders and software delivery teams to implement solutions that meet defined business requirements.

  • Collaborate with team members in the identification, preparation and execution on project deliverables.

  • Document and communicate functional and non-functional software requirements. This may include supporting the drafting of user stories and/or process diagrams.

  • Execute advanced configuration (user interface-based configuration) and system administrator activities within our core set of customer solutions applications.

  • Research, collect and extract data, both scheduled and upon request.

  • Design and document software application test cases.

  • Execute software application testing to support enhancements and releases.

  • Coordinate with key business stakeholders to execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for deliverables impacting the business processes they support.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field

  • Working knowledge of the utility industry

  • Working knowledge of Avista’s business functions supporting customer processes and procedures.

  • 3+ years of experience in the following areas preferred:

  • Working in Agile teams

  • Drafting functional software requirements.

  • Drafting test cases and creating testing suites to support validation that functionality delivered will meet business needs

  • Working in both Oracle CC&B and Salesforce Service Cloud and Service Cloud Voice

  • Coordinating cross functional teams in support of software application release testing

  • Works well independently and in a team environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Business Systems Analyst II:

  • 3-5 years of related experience

    Business Systems Analyst, Sr:

  • 5-8 years of related experience

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Business Systems Analyst II: Hiring Range: $35.87 - $46.45 per hour, Full Range: $35.87 - $57.03 per hourBusiness Systems Analyst, Sr: $46.40 - $60.78 per hour, Full Range: $46.40 - $75.17 per hour

Hybrid work options are available for this role. The successful candidate will be required to work at our Spokane, Washington headquarters at least 3 days per week including Mondays and Tuesdays with an additional day determined by the employee and manager.
