We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced commercial construction electrician to act in the specialized role of leading underground installation crews, supporting our commercial/industrial electrical contracting operations in North and South Carolina. Minimum Experience Requirements

Qualified candidates should have 6+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience, and specific experience with underground electrical installations on large commercial projects, as well as at least 2 years of supervisory and field leadership experience.

Physical Requirements

Fountain follows the model of the “working foreman,” and our foremen and field leaders are expected to spend time working on their tools with their crews, in addition to their administrative and leadership functions. Accordingly, candidates must meet the same physical requirements as other field personnel. Employees must be able to lift 50+ pounds, work from a ladder or scaffold, work overhead, and perform without hindrance activities and tasks that involve repetitive reaching, stretching, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and/or bending. They must also be able to work in varied climate conditions, and should possess good balance, depth perception, eye-hand coordination, and the stamina to perform physically demanding construction work. Above all, a candidate must be able to safely perform the duties and responsibilities normally and reasonably expected of a tradesperson in their position.

Job Description and/or Requisite Proficiencies

  • Safety-first mentality and expectations

  • Read and understand electrical drawings

  • Read and understand survey data, and familiarity with geospatial layout technology

  • Experience with transformers and generators

  • NEC knowledge

  • Proficient and safe operation of company vehicle with trailer

  • Pole base installation

  • Underground conduit/raceway/duct bank installation

  • Concrete and general construction work

  • Equipment operation, including excavator and mini-ex

  • Experience/familiarity with iTool 6k and 12k tuggers preferred

  • Pulling wire up to #750 MCM

  • Strong planning and organizational skills a must

    Additional Requirements and/or Expectations

  • Applicants must possess a High School diploma or GED.

  • Applicants must pass a mandatory drug screen and background check.

  • Applicants must have a valid driver license and satisfy requirements to drive company vehicle, CDL preferred.

  • Training in an apprenticeship or similar program, or in a trade or technical school is preferred.

  • Relevant licenses and/or certifications are preferred.

  • Applicants should have excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Applicants must be able to multi-task and work well under time constraints.
